Macrogramma volume 3 si addentra in modo più deciso nel territorio di confine tra rumore e musica, dove il suono è nello stesso tempo evento narrativo e costruzione astratta.
Il filo conduttore che unisce le tracce qui presenti risiede nel fatto che tutte derivano da elaborati destinati a due distinte installazioni audio-visive di Riccardo Arena: “De Carnibus” e “25.765”. Quest’ultimo parte di “Four Times A Tree”, un ampio progetto artistico presentato da Riccardo Arena per la prima volta a Shangai nel 2008.
Il mix presenta molte differenze rispetto agli originali del periodo, in particolare De Carnibus, con le sue tre parti, è una versione molto ampliata rispetto a quanto fu usato nella installazione originale del 2008, che includeva la sola De Carnibus 3.

Macrogramma volume 3 enters more decisively into the border area between noise and music, where sound is at the same time narrative event and abstract construction.
The tracks in this release were all composed to be soundtrack for two audio-visual installations by Riccardo Arena: “De Carnibus” and “25.765” (part included in “Four Times A Tree”, a vast art project presented by Riccardo Arena for the first time in Shanghai in 2008).
The tracks differ from the original ones of the period. In particular De Carnibus, with its three parts, is a much expanded version compared to what was used in the 2008 installation, which included only De Carnibus 3.
De Carnibus (1-2-3)
I brani di questa serie sono stati originariamente composti per la colonna sonora della video installazione “De Carnibus” di Riccardo Arena. Tutto il materiale sonoro presente è stato creato a partire da tracce di singoli campioni di pianoforte che entrando in un sistema di filtri, delay, loop e shifters creano una trama che si dipana fino a dissolversi. Non sono state impiegate altre sorgenti sonore.
Tra queste tre, la traccia scelta per l’installazione è stata De Carnibus 03. De Carnibus 01 e De Carnibus 02 hanno quindi vita a sé stante. Nel 2013 ho realizzato un’altra traccia chiamata De Carnibus 4, che consiste in una versione abbreviata di De Carnibus 2 mixata in surround 4.1.

The tracks of this series were originally composed for the soundtrack of the video installation “De Carnibus” by Riccardo Arena. All the sound material has been created starting from stems of single piano samples that, entering a system of filters, delays, loops and shifters, create a texture that unravels until it dissolves. No other sound sources were used.
Among these three, the track chosen for the installation was De Carnibus 03. De Carnibus 01 and De Carnibus 02 have therefore a life of their own. In 2013 I edited another track titled De Carnibus 4, which consists of a surround 4.1 shortened version of De Carnibus 2.
